1st XI Cricket v Ripon
Bramcote 95 for 1(20 overs)
Ripon 40 all out
Bramcote won by 55 runs
A tidy, workmanlike performance by Bramcote saw them comfortably beat an enthusiastic, but inexperienced Ripon Cathedral School team with nearly half their overs remaining.
Bramcote won the toss and elected to bat first, and despite losing Moederle-Lumb early, Salvin (41 not out) and Dickinson (32 not out) then added an unbroken 90 for the 2nd wicket to steer the total to 95 for 1 on a slow pitch, in their allotted 20 overs.
Ripon started their reply with intent, but three wickets fell in Dickinson’s first over (a bowled, an LBW and a run out) and they never recovered from 12 for 3. Needler and Moederle-Lumb chipped in with wickets themselves as skipper Dickinson shared the bowling around, and Warwick and Salvin, the other bowlers used, were euqlly accurate and effective. Baxter finished off the Ripon innings by taking 2 wickets in 3 balls, and the job was complete.
Excellent wicket keeping again by Andrews and some top class ground fielding, by Baxter, in particular.
Well done, all-round.
