1st IX V Cundall Manor

Bramcote lost the toss and were put into bat by Cundall who fielded exceptionally well in the first innings getting all the Bramcote girls out for just 4 1/2 rounders in 22 balls. Bramcote didn't fare much better in the field with careless throws and missed catches. It took us a long time to get all the Cundall girls out for 13 1/2 rounders. There were however some fabulous catches by Victoria, Camilla, Anna and Emily Edwards.

After the dismal display of batting in the first innings, the Bramcote girls showed more resilience in their second innings with full and half rounders coming from Emily, Emily, Miranda, Olivia and Victoria. The Cundall girls continued to field consistently and we were down to just three batters (Emily, Emily and Olivia). These three girls proved tough to dismiss and kept the score ticking over - an excellent effort by all three adding 13 to the score. Our aim was to try and keep Cundall from scoring too many in their final innings, but again our fielding let us down with silly mistakes and dropped catches, and the Cundall hitting was consistent throughout. Bramcote kept going and with some good stumpings at first base and some solid catches by Emily Smyth, Victoria and Camilla - we got Cundall out for 14. The final score, Bramcote 17 1/2, Cundall 27 1/2. Not as bad as it could have been and it was a good come back attempt in the second innings. A special mention must go to Emily Smyth who scored a total of 8 1/2 rounders for the team - superb.
