Six Under 11 boys travelled to Aysgarth today to take part in the Spirit of Soccer Tournament. There were 12 teams taking part from all over the Nortrh of England. The boys all took their turn to captain the team, play in goal and have a rest game. All played well showing determination and a degree of skill and real effort.

In the group section we beat Aysgarth and Cundall and lost narrowly to Woodleigh (eventual winners), Mowden and Barnard Castle. We finished 3rd in the group out of 6 and therefore went into a play off for 5th and 6th place. In that play off against Cundall we lost 2-1 in a close encounter and a very enjoyable game. Well done boys an excellent afternoon of entertaining football and a delight to play in some Spring sunshine for a change. In the whole competition we finished a very creditable 6th out of 12.
