| Opportunities for All At Bramcote your child will be given every opportunity to discover a form of artistic expression at which to excel. With expert tuition and guidance from qualified staff, in a friendly, creative environment, inherent abilities will be channelled and developed in ways that lead to a real sense of achievement. Our programme of inspirational and aspirational visits to exhibitions, workshops and performances has been designed to further enhance enjoyment of the Arts. Music Bramcote’s music department sets extremely high standards, with the emphasis being on enjoyment and participation. We firmly believe that music should be fun for your child. We encourage pupils to learn at least one instrument, from a wide choice, and all musical tastes are catered for. There are also opportunities to join one of our school ensembles or choirs. Bramcote’s pupils achieve impressive results in Associated Board examinations and are regularly invited to give performances at public events. Drama If your child is interested in drama, or in developing acting and other theatre skills, our regular school productions will allow them to become fully involved. Older pupils also enjoy theatre visits several times a year, either to the excellent Stephen Joseph Theatre here in Scarborough or travelling further afield to venues in cities such as York, Leeds, Hull and Newcastle. Before theatre visits, pupils discuss the script of the play they are to see under the guidance of the Head of English. Art, Design and Technology Our well equipped art, design and technology department will give your child the chance to enjoy learning and developing their skills. They will become more involved with the creative arts and there are hands-on opportunities at Bramcote, both within the curriculum and in free time, that include working with clay, wood, paints and other materials, as well as getting to grips with computer art and design. The high level of achievement can be seen in displays around the school. |
