If children are happy, they are in a better frame of mind to learn. When your child is a pupil at Bramcote, you can be assured that their happiness is one of our principal pastoral aims. Staff at every level are here to help the pupils, and make it clear that they are available for the children to have a friendly chat at any time. Recent inspectors have been particularly impressed with this aspect of Bramcote, recognising that our pupils viewed all staff as friends who would help if they had a problem.
All staff at Bramcote will work with you on a continuing basis to ensure that your child gets the best from their school. We will keep you fully informed about their academic progress, and, of equal importance, will discuss emotional and physical development and general health matters in order to maintain the highest standards of care for your child.
Bramcote offers a full-time boarding school programme, with the flexibility for pupils to board all the time, on regular nights throughout the week, occasionally to cope with family needs or to be a day pupil that never stays the night. All pupils benefit from the same high quality of teaching and everyone is welcome to join in with activities at school, as parental commitments allow.
Often children start as day pupils, but many quickly ask their parents if they can board, because they want to enjoy the full experience. Irrespective of which arrangement your family has with the school, the same high level of care and ongoing commitment to their welfare will be given whilst in our charge.
Bramcote has been recognised as a safe and nurturing environment by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate. This is important for your child’s continuing well-being. We pride ourselves on the safety of pupils and their welfare, the nutritious nature of the school food and our promotion of initiatives that ensure health and wellbeing; we are proud to claim that Bramcote pupils regard their school as a ‘home from home’.
Our programme of leisure time activities has been developed to ensure that your child will never be at a loose end when boarding at Bramcote. The wide range of sports, games and other activities available is not only constructive, but also helps to develop confidence, social skills and reinforce friendships.
You are welcome to contact the Headmaster at any time to discuss your child’s progress, or you can join us on a Wednesday or Saturday afternoon in the Headmaster’s drawing room where you will have the opportunity to chat informally with the staff.
