Pre-Prep Newsletter - October 2009

Volume 4, Issue 1                                                                       October 2009

Dear Parents and Friends,

We enter into a new academic year with lots of exciting plans and ideas to move the school forward.

We were delighted to welcome Hannah Sunley, Jack Chafer and Nathan Humphrey to the Pre-Prep at the beginning of the year. They are  delightful pupils to have in the school. We also welcomed Georgia Snow as our ‘Gap Year Student’. She has proved invaluable to us!

We hope you enjoyed the Harvest Assembly and must thank Lucy Kappes for the wonderful chocolate hamper she donated for the raffle. All the proceeds of our ‘harvest of money’ will be going to UNICEF to support their work helping children thrive and survive in Mozambique. We were delighted to be able to send £165.00 to them. Thank you to all who bought  a raffle ticket.

Our next productions will be the Christingle Service to be held on Friday 4th December at 9.00 am and The Nativity Play to be held on Tuesday 15th December. Again all the Pre-prep children will be taking part in both events.  We warmly invite all family and friends to join us for these special days

Please may I remind you that Mrs Snow has a stock of school hats and gloves for when the weather gets colder. Boys and girls are able to wear their track suit bottoms in the playground on cold days. We would like the track suits to remain in school so that they are available for PE days.

The Book Fair was once again very well supported and Mr. Williams has been able to give us a lovely box of new books from the commission.

We enjoyed our visit from Darren and his dog Millie. Mrs. Stockill will be able to order some Christmas cards from the ‘Dogs for the Disabled’ should you wish to buy some. We have also been selling ‘Dog Tags’ and the money we raise will go towards helping to train another dog to help with this most worthwhile cause.

The children have been very busy over the past half term and I am sure you will enjoy reading and seeing the results of their hard work.

There will be a list of events at the end of the newsletter.

We hope you all had an enjoyable, happy half term.
