From York, Via The A64 And Also Via Pickering A170 Which Joins The A64

This is the best route from the south, the west, or A1.

Follow A64 all the way into Scarborough: there are various roundabouts on the outskirts. As you enter the town watch the speed limit 40 mph quickly becomes 30 mph. Just after this point, you will see some large stores on your right Magnet, Halfords, B & Q. A few yards on there is a mini-roundabout.

TURN RIGHT into Queen Margaret's Road. The road bears left and uphill round the side of Oliver's Mount for nearly a mile until you come to a mini-roundabout.

TURN RIGHT into Filey Road. Pass the first two turnings on your left and Bramcote is the next row of buildings on your left.

There is a Visitors car park with signs to the Reception which is to your right along the footpath.

From The A171, Whitby Road

This is a long approach through several villages and skirts the edge of the town.

Approaching Scarborough after descending from the Moors, pass through Cloughton village (watch the 30 mph speed limit for a long stretch).

STAY ON the A171 into Scarborough even though there is a road down to Scarborough's North Bay from a mini-roundabout pointing to Scarborough. One mile further on you enter Scalby, which is really the start of the (north end) of the town.

Carry on past Scarborough Building Society and Rugby Club on your right (it is quite some way along this road - we are about 3 miles from Scalby).

Carry straight on until you approach major traffic lights with signs to Scarborough Hospital to your right - you now know you are on the right road!

DRIVE STRAIGHT ON for half a mile to a mini-roundabout, TAKE SECOND EXIT.

After 300 yards, there is a junction (really another mini-roundabout). TURN LEFT into Falsgrave Road and immediately you approach traffic lights in right hand lane.

TURN RIGHT at those traffic lights into Seamer Road. Proceed for a mile or so, passing the McCain Stadium, home of Scarborough Football Club, on your right.

TURN LEFT into Queen Margaret's Road.
