Bramcote Sport

Bramcote has a strong sporting tradition. We like to encourage the competitive spirit in all children, but never at the expense of their enjoyment. For Match Reports, see the individual sports pages.

Bramcote Sport

Sport is an important part of life at Bramcote and games sessions take place every day between 2.00 and 3.00pm. The emphasis is on helping all pupils reach their full potential and coaching is given by experienced and enthusiastic staff.

Bramcote has excellent sports facilities. A beautiful field is the envy of many schools and there is also a large sports hall and indoor swimming pool.

All children will be given the opportunity to play regularly for school teams and the vast majority take part in a fixture with another school at least once a week. Bramcote teams have a reputation for being well organised and competitive but also for playing the game in the right spirit. Children are encouraged to play to win but never think that winning is the only important thing in a match with another school.

The major sports are rugby, football, cricket, hockey, netball and rounders. There are regular opportunities to participate in other sports such as athletics, swimming, tennis, cross country, judo, golf and horse riding.

The school is an active member of the Scarborough Primary Schools' Sports Association and junior pupils take part in regular events such as football leagues and tournaments, cross country, swimming, cricket, golf, rugby league, netball and indoor athletics.

Many Bramcote pupils take part in sporting activities outside school and attend local rugby, swimming, running, tennis and football clubs. Some are playing at high level and the school encourages this and always works with parents to develop a flexible approach to the school routine so that the children can achieve their full potential at these clubs.
