Exeat Travel Arrangements – Friday 12th March to Sunday 14th March 2010
The Exeat begins on Friday 12th March at 12.30 pm and ends on Sunday 14th March at 8.00 pm (for boarders) or Monday 15th March at 8.25 am (for day pupils). Please find enclosed the travel arrangements for this exeat and inform Gina as soon as possible of any changes. Mobile phone numbers are on the travel arrangements so you can contact the various buses direct, if there is a problem.
Coffee Morning - Friday 12th March
Ann will be hosting a coffee morning at the school from 11.30 am on Friday 12th March for all parents who would like to attend, before taking their children home at 12.30. This is an ideal opportunity to chat with other parents, so please come along if you can. Sue Duncan is bringing along her collection of Miglio “special offers” and Deborah Richardson will be here again with her range of French clothing for children up to the age of 14.
Press Cuttings
Please find enclosed a sheet of various press cuttings which have appeared in the Scarborough Evening News from September 2009 to February 2010.
Football & Netball v Parents
On Saturday 20th March, Form V and VI boys and girls have the opportunity to play football and netball matches against their parents. This weekend is also Sport Relief weekend and, as a way of contributing to this worthwhile charity, we would like those parents who wish to be involved to wear ‘Sport Relief’ t-shirts. These are available at larger branches of Sainsbury’s, T.K.Maxx and online at www.sportrelief.com. Please contact John Horton or Vicky Stewart if you would like to take part in these matches.
York Schools, Entrance Exams
Over the last few weeks, a number of our pupils have attempted Entrance exams for three schools in York. I am pleased to announce that the following have been awarded places. Sam Dickinson, Anna Fairbank, Olivia Harrison and Sebastian Moederle-Lumb at St. Peter’s School. Victoria Beevers, Miranda Cundall and Olivia Harrison at Queen Margaret’s School. Nathanael Warwick at Bootham School.
Olivia performed so well at Queen Margaret’s that she was offered an Academic Scholarship. She did particularly well in Mathematics, scoring the top mark in an exam which had entrants from Prep Schools all over the country. Well done to her.

I am delighted to tell you that I have just heard today that Emily Edwards has been awarded an All-rounder Exhibition at Sedbergh School. Congratulations to Emily.
