The Exeat begins on Friday 27 November at 12.30pm and ends on Monday 30 November at 8.00pm (for Boarders) or Tuesday 1 December at 8.25am (for Day Pupils). Please find enclosed the Travel Arrangements for this exeat and inform Gina, by Wednesday 25 November, of any changes. Mobile phone numbers are on the travel arrangements so you can contact the various buses direct, if there is a problem.

Chamber Choir Concert – Saturday 28 November 2009

Please meet at St Columba’s Church, Scarborough (Dean Road roundabout) at 10.30 am.   Dress will be school uniform with Chamber Choir ties and blazers.  The children will be available to pick up at 11.30 am, although your support will be much appreciated at this Christmas Fayre.

Carol Service – Friday 18 December – 3.30 pm

Please find enclosed an invitation for the annual Carol Service, which will be held at St Martin’s on the Hill commencing at 3.30 pm.  The Prep School children will be ready for parents to collect them, and their luggage, from after lunch (1.50 pm).    However, children in the Choir, Form II and Lesson Readers will be escorted to Church by the School. Any child who has not been collected by 3.00 pm will be escorted to the church to meet up with their parents there.  All Pre-Prep children will be escorted to the Church and sit with Pre-Prep staff.  The children and their reports, can be collected after the service. The School will be open for luggage to be collected after the Carol Service, which usually ends at approximately 4.30 pm.  Term officially ends after the Service when you will be given your child(ren)’s Report.

Success at Harrow

Congratulations to Ned Salvin who has been offered a place at Harrow for September 2011.  He has done extremely well as the competition for places this year was very tough, with only one in every four candidates being offered a place.

Coffee and Clothing Sale

Ann will be providing coffee in the private house from 11.00 am on Friday.  Do come along if you are collecting your children for exeat.  Deborah Richardson, who brought children’s clothes at the last exeat, will be returning with the “Captain Tortue” children’s wear collection and a new ladies wear range.  As last time, a percentage of the profit will be donated to the Phoenix Fund.  It will be a good opportunity to add to your Christmas present collection.

Advent Calendars

Over the exeat, I am sure that your children will ask for their annual advent calendar and I certainly do not wish to stand in the way of this exciting time of the year.  However, our recent experience does suggest that many modern advent calendars with little gifts of chocolate or sweets within them can prove to be too much of a temptation for some children.  Therefore, can I please ask you to only send back to Bramcote advent calendars without little gifts.  I realise that advent calendars have been in the shops since late September and I apologise if you have already purchased one but can you please ensure that this remains at home.  It will be very nice to see advent calendars used for their traditional purpose of looking forward to the treats in store at Christmas!

Interim Reports

Please find enclosed the 2nd Interim Report for your child(ren).
