Dear Parents

Senior Production – “Grease”  (Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December)

The Senior Production for this year is “Grease”, which will be performed on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December, starting at 6.30 pm.  To help cover the cost of this production, tickets will cost £5.00 each and are available from Gina, from Wednesday 18 November.

Where possible we would like to give first chance on Saturday to the parents of the Cast, and would encourage parents of more junior children to come on Friday night.  If this is a problem however, let Gina know.  We would strongly encourage all of you to come to what will no doubt be another super occasion.

Unfortunately, due to copyright, nobody is allowed to record any of the performances.

One final point, we will ensure that all pupils who want to see the Show get an opportunity to do so, at some time, free of charge.

Drinks Evening

Ann and I much enjoyed meeting some prospective parents at the Drinks Party hosted by Douglas and Dagmar Moederle-Lumb, on Friday evening. I would like to thank them for the evening, and those other parents who came to the event. We are also grateful to Simon and Katie Fairbank for offering to host a similar occasion on 4th December, and to those parents planning events for next term.

We still have a gap in the York/Malton area if there is anyone who might feel able to host something there, please let us know.

Superhero Event – Tuesday 24 November

Just a little reminder that the school will be holding a Superhero sponsored event next Tuesday, 24 November between 2.00 and 3.00 pm.  Sponsorship forms are available from the office.

Hair Cuts

A small number of Senior boys have special permission to allow their hair to grow longer than usual in preparation for their performance in “Grease”. I thought I should point this out in case any parents (or other pupils!) had gained the impression that this was to become the norm. As ever, there are a few other boys who will probably need a trim by the next exeat. I am sure parents will continue to be supportive on this.

Northbrook Gift Wrap

A big “thank you” to all those who ordered wrapping paper etc. – all your purchases will have raised £170 for the Phoenix Foundation.  Hopefully, orders will be ready to send home at the next exeat.

Emma Bridgewater Pottery

Jane Deri is selling Emma Bridgewater pottery and gifts, and is happy to give parents and family a 15% discount and also to make a contribution to the school.  The products can be seen at www.emmabridgewater.co.uk.  There is a copy of a catalogue in reception or if you would like a catalogue, please contact Jane on jderi@btconnect.com.
