Drama & Theatre
Drama plays an important role at Bramcote and is an activity enjoyed by puplis throughout the school. It allows pupils to develop their confidence and gain practical skills in puplic speaking, script work, acting, theatre skill etc.
If your child is interested in drama, or in developing acting and other theatre skills, our regular school productions will allow them to become fully involved.
Children participate in school productions at least once per year. The Senior Production, which involves Forms V and VI usually takes place towards the end of the Autumn term and the Junior Production, involving Forms II, III and IV, takes place towards the end of the Spring term. Individual Drama lessons are also available with Mr Neil Gardner, the Head of English.
Pupils have regular trips to see productions at local theatres in Scarborough and further afield in York and Leeds. Indeed, we are very lucky to have the world renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre on our doorstep where internationally celebrated playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn premieres all his new work. Staff from the Stephen Joseph have visited school to hold drama workshops with groups of children.
